Circular Staircase with Tree Branch Railing
Les White of Acorn Construction is a long-time client and collaborator with Renaissance Fabrication and this was another opportunity with Les where we've been able to be fairly creative, using fabricated metal foliage–leaves and branches–to create an effect where the line a between building and it's surroundings becomes blurred.
Featured here is the staircase being fabricated in our Pace Boulevard facility. Click the image for a full slideshow.

Challenges: Circular staircases are the apex of difficulty in fabrication and construction. The curve and the pitch change constantly. Geometry, trigonometry and other engineering skills are a requirement.
Lessons Learned: The first instance of a complex project always offers many lessons. Persistence is the key to success.
Circular staircases take up more space than a spiral staircase but are more elegant, easier to navigate and make a grand impact on any entrance.
